Hello everyone,
I’m a (almost) Level 9 Local Guide reaching out to the community with a frustrating issue. My Timeline (formerly Location History) has completely disappeared for all data prior to March 2, 2025. It’s as if a large chunk of my history was simply erased.
I know that Google has recently acknowledged a system issue that caused some users’ data to be deleted, and I suspect I might be one of those affected. I haven’t manually deleted anything.
Given the nature of this problem, it seems like a technical issue on Google’s end that requires intervention. I believe a solution would need to come directly from the Google team, as I can’t access or restore this data on my own.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? If so, were you able to get in touch with the Google team, or did they provide a solution? I would greatly appreciate any information or advice you can share.

Getting personal support from Google on a free product is not happening. You have to do with online help pages and volunteers. Sorry, but that is just how it is.

I apologize if I’ve missed a similar topic that has already been discussed.
I followed all the guidelines back in November to ensure my location services wouldn’t be discontinued. I had the backup activated and didn’t change my phone or make any other similar changes. Despite this, I lost my data in March, on the same date that many others reported losing theirs.
As for whether these are “free services,” it’s worth noting that we pay with our data, our reviews, and for subscriptions for extra storage.

Did you read the links? As far as I remember the product expert mentioned that they are aware and working on it and there a procedure to get the data back.

I’ve been trying all the proposed solutions for a while now, and none of them have worked. It’s been several months since March, and with the lack of support from big tech companies like Google or Meta, I’m losing confidence that a solution will be found.
I am 3,000 points away from Level 9, and it took a lot of effort to get here. I know I’m just a number to Google, and that they don’t care, but after losing my entire Location History, I refuse to upload another single photo or review.
