What does the Local Guides program mean to you?
Well, I believe I can’t answer this question just like that.
It means A LOT!
I’ve met so many different people, from other cultures and countries, and the fact that I get to open their eyes wider and stare with an awe whenever they see the beauties of my country, is just amazing; whenever I take them to a certain restaurant or several of them, even my house, and ask them to try something they’ve never tasted in their lives and see their faces because they liked what they ate, that feeling, I just fall in love of how people see that my Guatemala has so many things to offer, so many places that have to be seen and discovered or just see them at a distance; when I show people a map of where they are in that precise moment, and then I zoom out and show them how tiny this country is compared to others, that fills me with joy (almost at a point that I want to cry) and makes me feel more passionate about what I do with GoogleMaps.
I don’t just show a place around, I get them to appreciate the wonders of this world, what we have to take care of, and give them unforgettable and unimaginable great experiences.
So, what does it mean to me? Passion, joy, fulfillness, experiences, flora, fauna, adventure, tastes, safety, conquest, travels, food, education, volcanoes, culture, meeting people, satisfaction, good vibes, friends, emotions, possibilities…and many more.
So if you’re looking for love, find yourself finding a place and make it yours, keep it in your memories forever, because whenever you think about it again, it’ll make you smile from within you.
