Local Guides means to me: Becoming a part of something global, acting with responsibility, and paying attention to details…not to forget combining pleasure with seriousness.
Local Guides program has had a lovely implication in my life since I started to notice that I belong to a certain international body, joyful, helpful and informative. To me, being a Local Guide means experiencing this wonderful fact of international sharing; and saying this, I mean providing and receiving real information, helpful material for people all around the world to enjoy the beauty of our world with less headache. Since I am a frequent traveler, I love to do my own plans and need to find information with less cost. Here I started by using google map and later on by getting involved in reviewing and sharing. Thus exchanging qualified info about places and restaurants. Wherever I am, wherever you are, reading your discoveries and sharing my experiences gave me the joy to feel this sense of belonging and granted me a freedom to fly.
This couldn’t happen without the sense of responsibility. Providing reliable information on such a platform became my ringing bell. I feel responsible to help small businesses promotion, and this is why I added for example ADD events ADDevents and Abou Chebel Abou Chebel
I feel as well responsible to push other businesses, by using google map, to provide high quality services; I found myself attentive to the services and products I am receiving. I confess that some pubs or coffee shops in my country contacted me back when I put 1 star or a non-desired review. The responsibility is not restricted towards business promotion….no! it is to promote my country in a lovely touristic way.
On the other side, I like how Local guides program allows me to assist other travelers around the world; I love being interactive while visiting international attractions…doing searches, reading their comments watching their photos, adding mine…and I feel amazed when I discover a non-frequent visited place or a wonderful frequent place… I was travelling with all my local guides colleagues
It is our global responsibility to keep our planet joyful and thus combining pleasure with seriousness!!!
Thanks to my involvement in the Local Guides program, I became aware of small details on geographical and service levels. This engagement got me in close communication with restaurants owners and waiters, It makes me even more attentive to my behavior and it increases my observation skills enjoying every single detail. During my trips, I start to notice small details, colors, smells and songs. I learnt how to appreciate places that were frequented by passers-by without being valued. The Rock of Hamat [The rock of Hamat ](Google Maps. …)that was a memory wall for every passenger is now a spot on the seaside road in the north of Lebanon with more than 14000 views. ( I am falling in love with this rock)
I believe local guides connect program is coming to ground this global body experience. I am keen to meet you there guide…hopefully!
