Local Guides had "Ngabuburit" and Iftar at Chatten Cafe Batu

Ngabuburit means a waiting time to break the fasting. Usually, we spent Ngabuburit by various activities; visiting tourist attractions, looking for takjil, reading books, or spending a relaxed time with family or friends. On Saturday of 23 March 2024, about ten Local Guides from Malang and Batu had ngabuburit and an iftar together in a hidden place Chatten Cafe, in Batu.

We started to gather at 4 PM local time. Before we had an iftar, the manager, Mya, told us the history of the place and invited us to have a short mini tour. The interesting part of this Cafe is their disability toilet and the wheelchair friendly for their entrance. WiFi is not available here since their campaign to provide a perfect place for families to spend time with. Also, the name “Chatten” is chosen as the Dutch word that has the meaning “chatting”. They also had 360 views on their third floor of the main building complete with the requested telescope. Definitely a perfect place to see the mountain view from Batu.

We started to learn about our iftar menu at 5.30 PM, and most of us took the food picture, of course! They had edible flowers garnished in most of the plating of the menu. After having iftar, we talked about our experience of being Local Guides and planned to have more meet up this year.

So, what’s your ngabuburit activity during this Ramadan time? please let me know in the comments below :slightly_smiling_face:

Regards,

Nunung Afuah

Maybe this is one of the cafes that really pays attention to people with disabilities. Even the toilets are really paid attention to. There is also a play ground for families. Highly recommended.

This cafe is different from the others, namely it has a brand promise that the menu will arrive in less than five minutes. Then it doesn’t provide wifi because it fits the theme of Chatten which comes from Dutch which means to chat. So if there is no wifi, we focus more on chatting with family or friends. Apart from places to enjoy food, there are also several spots for office activities such as coworking spaces, sports communities, camping grounds, and also weddings… Maximum service, satisfying portions of the food menu, and lots of variants. Parking is very spacious, I don’t think road access is an obstacle to getting here because it is commensurate with the atmosphere and kit satisfaction
