I visited the station this place located in, multiple times in 2023. And clicked many photos while exiting the station. However I visited the restaurant itself once and found the ambience and aura very pleasing and it was pretty packed then. I have left rating and review at this place if one is interested can hit the Gmaps and explore this restaurant and nearby places. To give you little more context about the name “Karigari”. It’s a chain of indian restaurant in selected 7-8 Indian cities run by popular chef Harpal Singh Sokhi. He is a renowned Indian chef, television personality, and culinary expert. He is known for his charismatic and lively cooking style, which combines traditional Indian recipes with a modern touch.

Karigar is a classic Persian word, which means a mason or artisan or craftsman. Someone who is master of his profession, specially masonry work. And the word Karigari or karigaree means the art or the technique of doing things masterfully. Because of being catchy and high class craftsmanship it has been linked to quality food preperation.

This is the second time I have had to replace my star video through not being able to find it in amongst over 8,000 images that I have uploaded. The views count had been stuck for 10 months, during the ongoing issues with Google Maps. In February the view numbers increased by 5,330 to 265,537. In March they have increased by 11,583 to 277,120. This month they have increased by 11,927 to 289,047.

For a while this was a target location, because it afforded a wide variety of different categories of photo and videos - I have created blue lines, video, and photos. There is an ornate fountain, a bandstand, a war memorial, ornate gates, wildlife, wide open spaces, cultivated flower beds and so much more including a stream running through it. For me it was a place of inspiration and experimentation in my early days of taking images as a Google Local Guide.

I have drastically increased the number of videos I have uploaded. It will be interesting to see, when the count issues with Google Maps are corrected, whether any of the newer videos show any sign of becoming my new star video. I took a video of Primark, Taunton, which is looking the most likely to become the new star video as it remains the top image for that listing. This is currently showing a slightly faster increase in views month-by-month.

I am now experimenting with drone shots, spheres and videos. I have taken a drone video circling around the fountain from about 15ft in the air. These newer types of shots for me, are showing some initially boosted viewing figures.

Mezethes Greek Taverna. Salamanca Square, Battery Point TAS, Australia
My star video, a screenshot of which is shown below, is of Mezethes Greek Taverna. It’s a short, only 11 second video taken of the frontage and courtyard dining area of the taverna.

Establishment in 2003, this family-run operation is housed within one of the historic bluestone buildings of the Salamanca Arts Precinct. The name “Mezethes,” meaning “many little dishes” or “to graze” in Greek, reflects its focus on offering a variety of small, flavorful dishes—a style of dining inspired by the way Greeks enjoy meals at home.

Set in the vibrant Salamanca Square, the restaurant benefits from its location within a bustling cultural and historic area known for its sandstone architecture and proximity to the Salamanca Market.

I shot the video on my faithful Google Pixel 3XL and while I took it in March 2024, it seems like I didn’t upload it onto Maps until early January 2025.

Mi trovavo per un congresso di assicuratori organizzato dallo SNA Sindacato Nazionale Agenti di assicurazione, in un albergo nella periferia milanese in un piccolo paese chiamato Cinisello Balsamo e mi ha colpito la vista dalla mia camera, ovvero la zona circostante l’ edificio e il paesaggio urbano con la tangenziale e le autovetture che passavano veloci sotto la finestra. Non è il mio miglior video ma sicuramente è il mio video più visto.

My top video keep changing in recent months seems mostly due to “explore” features (e.g. not even shared on the location page).
After several months of new videos rising to the top, this older video of Spitalfield Market in London (properly featured) has returned to the top.
It is a lovely old market that has been rejuvenated to a popular foods and restaurants and high end boutiques shops.
