This is my second star video. I took this video on June 29, 2023, while out to dinner with my college roommate and our wives. This was about a month after I shot my first star video, which is a montage of landscape photos. By the time I shot this video of a grilled cheese and brisket sandwich I had switched to shooting in portrait orientation and had discovered cinematic mode on my Pixel 3a. Since it was my dinner, no one had to wait to eat while I shot it . I was fortunate that the lighting was unusually good for a restaurant and my panning motion was very smooth. My mouth still waters when I watch the video; It has always been one of my favorite Maps videos and I am so glad it is my new star. It immediately became the 2nd image in the POI gallery and still remains in that position.
My only regret is that it will knock me out of the Movers & Shakers Star Video board for a couple of months. It is ironic that my first star video was in landscape mode, when Google’s preference was for portrait mode, and now that my star is a portrait image they now prefer landscape- go figure.
