The Local Guides program represents one of the best way to show, to give and to take different experiences from places all over the world.
For me, it’s now a habit to put my personal experience of places in google maps and it’s a good way to interact with other people and to give them a direct advice about that specific place. It’s funny how easy it is to get and receive such informations using google maps.
Being part of the Local Guide program combines utility with pleasure by visiting a lot of places and giving the best review to guide people and to advice them about anything they need.
And as a photographer, taking pictures and putting them in Google maps is enteraining for me because it makes me get the perfect shot of that dish or that facade to share it with people from the four corners of the globe.
Once, when i was working as videographer, i had to make a promotional video of a new furniture showroom that is located in Sousse (Thrayet).
The problem is that is has a wrong Google Maps address, that is miles away. And since that i helped some shop owners before (names, adding addresses etc.) i had the responsability to change that address making it visible for people in Google maps by using the photos i took when i was there.
It’s funny how you’re getting to use your local guide experience even in your job which is something interesting.
As a local guide level 6, sharing and helping through Google Maps is a way of life for me, that’s why i want to get involved whenever i get the chance to catch an anomaly or a question which i have the answer.
The intereractions, the connexions, the experiences it’s what makes all this program so special. As i said before, a truly way of life nowadays.
