I remember that Google Local guide use to have a “Follow” button on other Guides to be able to view their profile and see their contributions and be a friend to support them in their journey. What happened to that feature? I no longer see that. I do want to be able to have more local guide to follow but I noticed that is no longer available? Please help , thanks in advance.

The Followers feature was removed in Google Maps from the end of September 2025.
A message about that was visible on our profile in the App since the end of July
After the removal it was replaced by this one
In some profile that message is still visible. Haven’t you seen it?
The message is also providing a link about the change

フォロー機能無くす必要ないですよね。自分はフォロー機能のおかげで面白いスポットをアップしてるガイドさんを登録して楽しんでました。実際にそのガイドさんのオススメにいくつも出掛けてました。
これこそグーグルマップの良さだったはず。グーグルはフォロー機能無くした理由について納得出来る回答はしていません。
フォロー機能の復活を望んでいます！
