Hi all
This is an idea but at this moment it is very rare and I like to discuss more about it, its advantages and disadvantages to give good feedback to Google.
These days live streaming is very common on social networks. But as a platform that tries to be more social, Google Maps still lacks it. So, How about if we could share a live stream on a place?
This could make the map more dynamic and cause totally fresh content on Google Maps. This feature could be a nice thing for Businesses, too. To be able to stream and prevent wrong content by this feature, users should turn on the GPS of the device and show they’re at the correct place.
Even it is better if the app forces users to capture their surroundings before live streaming and AI reconciles these pre-live videos with the Street View and the photos and videos currently on the POI. When AI detects that the user is at the correct location, then lets users start streaming.
Definitely, some other AI detections are needed, too to prevent bad and prohibited content. Also, flagging should be available to users who are watching the live streaming.
On the other hand, these live-streamed videos should not be stored on the map, because they may contain faces of people and plate numbers. So, it would be better if users could assign their YouTube channel to their Google Maps account and the system automatically save the live stream video on YouTube.
What do you think? Could this be a good a good feature? What other factors Google should consider before enabling such a feature on Google Maps? Please share your thoughts.
Thank you
