Lighthouses of San Francisco Bay Area

San Francisco Bay area has many light houses. All of them are unique and pretty to visit and of course photograph. Even though Alcatraz Island is famous for prison there is a light house on this island as well. According to wikipedia this is the first light house built on US West Coast.

Above picture was shot during FleetWeek SF airshow.

Walton Lighthouse is located around 30 miles south of San Jose downtown, A nice place to capture sunrise.

Here is another lighthouse in Santa Cruz, from where you can watch surfers. There is also a museum located here.

Pigeon Point Light house is located on Hwy 1, 20 Miles south of Half Moon Bay, CA. The picture was shot during one of the anniversary events, where light and sound show was displayed.

Point Bonita Light House is located north of Golden Gate Bridge. There is a small hike from parking lot to the light house, where you go through a tunnel, eventually small bridge connects to the light house.

Hello. Thank you for sharing beautiful photos. Is the beautiful picture projected on the lighthouse a projection mapping? It ’s very beautiful. When I hear Alcatraz, I think of the movie THE ROCK by Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. :movie_camera:Welcome to the Rock of Ranger Bob’s dialogue in the movie! The video of Alcatraz after is wonderful. I want to go to Alcatraz someday and meet Ranger Bob. Thank you very much. Regard
