Liam Neeson Films Blockbuster Movie In Small Historic Town Walhalla in Victoria, Australia

Walhalla, situated in Victoria, Australia, was established as a gold-mining community in the late 1862s, reaching its zenith with a population of around 4,000 residents. Fast forward to 2024, and the town now hosts a modest population of 21 permanent residents, with a significant number of houses serving as holiday properties. It is against this historical backdrop that Liam Neeson chose to film his blockbuster movie, “Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky,” transforming the town into a Nepalese Village for the production.

For a glimpse of the picturesque transformation and scenes from the movie, don’t forget to watch the video provided after this article. It’s important to note that the videos feature their original soundtracks, and I offer my apologies in advance if any unintentional inappropriate content is detected in the background.

The movie filmed is Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky the followup to the 2021 Ice Road starring Liam Neeson, Marcus Thomas and Laurence Fishburne. Ice Road 1 trailer below.

Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky has no set release date announced yet. The movie will star Liam Neeson, Bernard Curry AND Grace O’Sullivan

Ice Road 2 will follow Mike as he goes to Nepal to sprinkle his brother’s ashes on Mount Everest. When Mike and his mountain guide come upon a bunch of mercenaries while travelling on a tour bus they are forced to fight to save themselves, the passengers and the country.

Regrettably, I couldn’t be present on the set during the primary filming with Liam Neeson. However, the footage and images featuring Liam Neeson were graciously provided by Linda Scanlon Photography.

Despite this, I was able to capture Unit 2 in action, filming stunt sequences and gathering additional footage.
