Google map is very helpful in finding any place. But people are misusing Google Maps, and such people are adding their names and house on the map. It is really unfair. These people add their house by using categories like school, hospital, or bank. Such places are not useful to anyone, and they misguide people. As local guides, it is our duty to remove such unnecessary places from the map.
My main goal for organizing this meetup is that we all get together to remove unnecessary places from Google Maps so that our community can get accurate information through the map.

@NareshDarji I totally agree. I try to remove bogus listings pretty often. But, there are far too many times my edit is āNOT APPLIEDā because my edit canāt be verified. Often, Iāve done that verification for them by including screenshots of their own Streetview images, website screenshots, etc.
Iād love a blitz to remove all the fake listings but we canāt do it on our own. Google Maps needs to trust their local guides to make appropriate changes or take a more active role.
Hereās a good example. I tried to make two minor changes. I tried to remove the āTba,ā prior to the address. Itās not a properly formatted address with it there. And I attempted to have the main image removed as that is not the location at this physical address (I live minutes away). How can that not be verified by not looking at their own Streetview image for that address?

@NareshDarji great post my friend.
Here in Brazil I have seen some problems like this, in addition to people who are carrying out assessments in an inadequate way, without useful information for the population.
