Legendary Food from the 16th Century : Coto Makassar/ Coto Mangkasara

Hello Everyone,

i Want to introduce you the Foodie favourite : Coto makassar from Indonesia, as a legendary Food From 16th Century the condiments Made from 40 kinds of local herbs and spices (usually Known as Rampa Patang Pulo). This Food Usually Served for a special dish for the royal palace of Gowa which has exist in 1538.

Coto Makassar made from chunks of meat and the broth made from a lot of local herbs, spices and Groundnuts that have been fried combines to be an authentic delicious taste.

You can Find Coto makassar on Every place in Indonesia but This Food especially from Makassar city, Sulawesi Selatan. Coto Makassar usually eaten with burasa Or Ketupat (rice cake Boiled in a rhombus-shaped packet of plaited young coconut leaves) , and equipped with taoco sauce.

Wah, ternyata coto bumbunya banyak banget, ya, @ElisaJuly , sampai 40 macam begitu? Pantesan rasanya kuat banget.

Dan aku juga baru tahu, kalau bahasa Inggrisnya “ketupat” ternyata sepanjang itu. Hahaa…

hello @iorikun301 ini salah satu makanan yang wajib di coba, karena rasanya yang sangat Enak dan Khas.

haha betul Di Banjarmasin memang Khasnya Patin dan masakan Ikan sungai lainnya. :grin:

Ikan patin paling segar (dan besar!) yang pernah saya makan ya ikan patin yang saya beli di pasar Banjarmasin (atau Banjarbaru, ya? Lupa), @ElisaJuly

Pertama kali lihat kayak ikan hias yang ada di akuarium tapi gede (waktu itu ikan patin belum populer di Jawa). Ketika dibeli dan digoreng dengan bumbu bawang putih, ketumbar, dan kunyit, ternyata enak banget. Hehee…

Reading your post and looking at your photos make me miss Coto Makassar @ElisaJuly

I was so lucky could try this tasty food in their origin, Makassar, South Sulawesi. Here I would like to share the photo with you

yes, the coto that i’ve been tried is requested full of meat only because i don’t like the intestines.

have you tried Es Pisang Ijo or Es Palu butung at their origin? @Velvel

Unfortunately the original Coto Makassar should consist of meat along with the intestines, too @ElisaJuly

But it’s still great that you could enjoy the meat.

Is It easy to find Pisang Ijo in Banjarmasin?

That’s awesome @Velvel you tried the pisang ijo from its origin. the taste is Delicious for sure.

in Banjarmasin Ice Pisang Ijo commonly found in Makassar restaurant, or usually found at the Roadside in few areas of banjarmasin.
