4. I think it is one of my best photos.
5. I showed it to the owner of the shop while I was buying new shoes and he was nice surprised. He didn’t new google maps at all! Now he does. He gave me a little present for the work!
6. Important to contribute to making a top photo are for me to show were the place is situated; upgrade the business with a clear wide photo; to be happy with your picture; to be happy with the light!!!

Hi @AdamGT

Thank you for bringing me here. It’s such a fun “challenge”. Let me start it!

  1. Below is my “star photo”:

Caption : A screenshot of a photo by Local Guide @Velvel on Google Maps that showed Animal Style Fries, Protein Style, and Cheeseburger at IN-N-OUT Burger, Los Angeles, USA. (Local Guide@Velvel)

2. It is : my late dinner that I had together with my friend in Los Angeles. To get more information about my experience eating at IN-N-OUT Burger, read my Connect post about #StateChallenge The California Burger

3. I took / uploaded this photo on: 31 December 2019

4. Is it my best photo?

I think it’s not because when taking food photo, usually I will take the picture per food. But because that time we were so hungry, so I just took a quick snap of all of them

5. Why do I think it’s my “star photo”?

Because IN-N-OUT Burger is a very popular California burger chain in the United States. It is loved by both local and tourist. And the photo was taken at IN-N-OUT Burger chain in Los Angeles that always crowded even in the late of night! So, no wonder that the photo viewers are high.

6.I think the important factors that contribute to making a top photo are:

a. Since when the photo was uploaded and the existence until now

b. The popularity of the place

7. The camera I used is: Samsung Galaxy S8

8. My total number of photos is: 1,179

9. My total number of photos views is: 4,497,415

Hello @KishorMali and nice that you have participated in this study from which I hope we will all learn something! Your comments are very much appreciated however regarding the data submitted other LGs will read your submission and might be a little confused. This is all complicated enough for many and I want to keep things as simple as possible so I want to reply to your submission but please accept my reply in the spirit intended:

  1. In the submission steps mentioned in the post there are only 10 steps and it is clear that I only ask for details about ONE photo. This is your top view performing photo, which I call the “star photo”. As this has all been done and being maintained manually, to request details and add these for 3 photos would be the death of me :joy: Forgetting about the number of PMs I have, just have a read through some of the previous comments and you will see the effort that has gone into getting the information for just one photo from some LGs and you will understand what I am saying here! Sadly this has not been a straightforward exercise!
  2. To make things easy for everyone including myself I prefer a standard format see Q&A #6
  3. Yes perhaps we should include type of Star photo (Normal photo or supernova 360° panorama). If you think this is important then it could be part of your answer to my Step #6.
  4. Regarding your note about time of data, yes and this is mentioned in Q&A #4
  5. Regarding your closing Haha comment yes you are right but I have a dream!

Thanks for taking part Kishor.

All the best

Adam

I got it.

When new local guide will Join in your initiative, he/she will see my comment, and based on that they will write.

My additional questions, multiple photos and additional information makes them confused and it’s also break your series of 1 to 10 numbers of questions. So, indirectly your series of comment has been goes to different direction.

I am apologize.

I reedit my previous comment, and remove all the unnecessary information and photos, and make it relevant and appropriate to your theme of post, your initiative and your questionary.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Back in July @MortenCopenhagen mentioned another factor that could influence photo view count and after some discussion among participants here ( @Erik_van_den_Ham , @Herve_Andrieu , @TerryPG and @JanVanHaver ), he created a spin-off thread on hotspots. The question posed is, are there certain Maps review Categories that attract more views than others? Of course this depends on many factors such as location and cultural differences but still is an interesting factor worth of looking into. Given this, I’ve opened the door to collect the Category of our star photo and this data will either be passed on to Morten’s post or analysed here. So please take a moment and edit your earlier comment with your star photo and add the associated POI’s Category for that star photo. You can see how I’ve done it for my entry here. Please don’t start a new comment to provide the Category, this post is getting long enough lol. Just edit your previous entry. My robot willfind it

Good morning @AdamGT from up here (instead of down under).
Great new addition so very good thinking I hope everyone will edit it in as you showed. I will do this ASAP.

Just to make clear we need the right term for the POI. So I would advise everyone with a other language as English to copy and paste the link to a incognito tab (in private). The right English term will be showed instead of a wrongly translated one. We don’t want to get “Lost in Translation”.

Example:

If I took it from the Dutch version it would have been: Gasbedrijf instead of Gas company.

Some POI’s are not the same as just the translated version.

Hello @AdamGT I don’t see where you have the category in your link.
OOPSIE I completely overlooked it

Hey @KishorMali

Thank you for your understanding and accepting why I prefer the simple standard format as defined in the opening post. We need to keep it simple because some already have difficulties. Just one question for you though Kishor. Are you sure that the photo you have shown is your star photo by the definition at Step #1 in the opening post? One of the 3 photos you originally included had around 6,172 views! Also, on checking your Maps it appears that your star photo is of the Uttam Nagar Garden of March 2020! Can you please check and confirm. Also, while you’re at it, please see my comment regarding the Category of your star photo!

Thanks for your help and support.

@AdamGT

Good question.

Regarding uttamnagar garden’s 360°view photo,

You are able to show that there are many faces shown and it will become privacy issue.

And it’s also against photos rule of google Maps. (I will delete this in short time of period)

When I will have a time, and I will surely take another new 360° photo of uttamnagar garden.

Still this is place is not having a 360° photo, that’s why the first 360° view is taken by me is popular.

That’s why I don’t considering this is a star pic.

Regarding modhera sun temple photo, that is also popular.

But I took this from my friend and I have no details of that.

So my third most viewed photo is my star pic.

Thanks.

Good morning to @AdamGT and everyone else,

did you really know what you got yourself into by starting this fun challenge? I just love to follow the many interesting comments from all over the world and all the helpful suggestions. It’s so good to have some other topic to think about than the Corona virus (while spending most of the time at home).

I am going to add this category as a PS at the end of my earlier comment, so you don’t need to read all through the text again.

Kind regards and take care all,
