…Hiiiiiiii my Near and Dear LGs all around the globe!!!..
I hope you are safe and doing well in this pandemic. We will definitely overcome this situation soon.
Feeling happy to share with you one beautiful place from Karnataka, Bengaluru from my travel diaries. I traveled in June-July so I don’t remember much, but I will try my best to describe the place.
Lalbagh, the green heart of the Bengaluru (Bangalore), is a phenomenal botanical garden and a home to many nonhumans. It is around a 240-acre garden located in South Bengaluru. It was planned and constructed by Haidar Ali and later its legacy was transferred to his heirs. We had a quick visit to it during my visit to the city. It has four gates. We entered from the gate that is near to Lalbaug lake. To explore the entire garden, u should take 2 to 3 hrs maybe.
Thousands of rare plant and tree species are harvested and cultivated. And the interesting fact is that it has one of the world’s largest collection of rare plants. It’s the best place for a fresh morning jog. And it’s also a good place for photography of little birds, beautiful trees and also an amazing lake filled with fishes, birds, and other creatures. Authority of the garden sells good quality plants, manures, and other stuff required for agriculture and planting.
Nearest to it is the Cubbon park which is also called the lung area of Bengaluru. So, heart and lung amidst the hasty traffic and pollution in the center of the city, what else one can demand for?
Apart from various green species and their kind, you got to see a spectacular view of colorful and fragrant flowers as well. They are many and thousands of kinds. You can walk through this green zone, take a stroll along the lake situated in the center of the garden. Away from the crowd and worries. Worth spending mesmerizing and meaningful memory. Worth visiting.
Other attractions that we missed:
- The Glass House
- Lalbagh Rock
- The Floral Clock
Quick Facts:
- Best time to visit: The best time to visit the Lalbagh Botanical Garden is during winter, which lasts from November to March in Bengaluru. Even though the gardens remain open throughout the year, it can get pretty stuffy and hot during summer.
