Lagos Tasty Plates turned out to be an interesting outing like we envisioned, with lots of sights and beautiful music to commemorate the International Women Day.
International women’s day is annually celebrated on March 8, usually showcasing the achievements of women throughout history and across the Nigeria. All through the month of March, there is always a buzz of celebration in the air to acknowledge the varying unique characteristics and strengths of a woman.
The event was an expo tagged Food, Drinks & Her, organised by Rite Foods Limited and showcased several female vendors. The theme for the year 2019 was “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change”. It ran with the hashtag #balanceforbetter on social media.

There was a welcome address and subsequently, a discussion panel made up of women who mainly discussed the challenges and the unique opportunities before women in business, it was quite educative. The expo was thrown open for all attendees to visit booths and buy/sample the products on display.

Local guides at the event were all clicks with their cameras as they captured different sights of the expo. Some highlights for some Local Guides was to take down some names of the businesses and seek them out on Googlemaps to provide reviews based on the their presentations and quality of food/drinks.

It was an interesting outing and obviously the Local Guides made the event far more interesting. The host introduced the local guides to the management of the organisers of the expo, educating them of the volunteer programme.
By 2pm, it was a wrap for the Local Guides in attendance and we headed out to take pictures of the hotel and beautiful waterfront.
