Krong Stueng Saen -Kampong Thom Province

Hi Local Guide Connectors! I would like to share with you of Krong Stueng Saen, Kampong Thom Province attraction.

The identity and iconic of Kampong Thom is Damrei Choan Khla.

:cambodia: Krong Stueng Saen (also spelled Stung Saen) is the capital and main urban center of Kampong Thom Province in central Cambodia. It is a charming town situated along the Stueng Saen River, which provides a scenic riverside setting.

:sparkles: It serves as the provincial capital and the main gateway to the World Heritage Site of Sambor Prei Kuk.

While the town itself offers a tranquil, local experience along the river, its main draw is its proximity to significant historical and natural sites:
1. Sambor Prei Kuk is UNESCO World Heritage site is the capital of the pre-Angkorian Chenla Kingdom (7th century). It features numerous ancient brick temples and is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. (Review)

2. Phnom Santuk is a historical and religious site, featuring ancient temples, intricate carvings, and a pagoda at the summit, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. I haven’t there, so I don’t have any pictures to share with you.

3. Stueng Saen Riverfront is a pleasant area for a leisurely stroll, with local vendors and a relaxed atmosphere.

4. Kampong Thom Provincial Museum Houses a collection of relics, lintels, statues, and pedestals from ancient sites in the region. But I don’t have time to visit there actually I think my next time will visit.
