Bird watching, sunrise tour, camping, trekking, hiking, mountain biking, cycling tour, kayaking… all adventure activities can be done here in the last elephant corridor, the last largest rainforest in Southeast Asia. Cardamom mountain is home to elephant, great hornbill, Siamese crocodile, Atlas moth, Asian arowana, and many rare animals species. It is my most favorite part of Cambodia. If you are in Cambodia and want to explore such activities; mild or extremely adventure, you can Google for Areng, Chi Phat, Tatai, Khnong Phasaar for such destinations. Stay with locals, eat fresh seafood and fall in love with nature in Koh Kong.
Thank you for sharing these helpful suggestions with us. Which one is your favourite destionation? What would you recommend as activities to other Local Guides?
I recommend you to create a list of your favourite places following this link Create a list of places in order to help other members to explore the places.
@GNaz Well, about favorite places, I couldn’t really say. As for Chi Phat, I had been working there - started from scratch - you can do many things there like mild adventurous activities - mountain biking, kayaking, trekking, sunset/sunrise boating, bird watching. So, it is getting popular for about 10 years. However, there are new destinations like Areng where you can do similar activities and more interesting activities like camping above the cloud. So, right now I can say I love Areng more. But, in recent days, locals are very keen to do the extreme hiking to Khnong Phasaar. It is the 2nd tallest mountain in Cambodia. I have not been there yet because now it is rainy season, not a good time for hiking on such a high mountain. I will wait for November-December to do it.*
I also recommend you to write a post about these destinations giving some tips and suggestions about them. I believe that it would be a great summary of Koh Kong ecotourism and it would be a nice guide for people who want to explore these places.
@GNaz yes, sounds like a great idea. I will pick from a single destination, one by one. I feel so motivated when you and other friends love to read that.*
Keep in mind that sharing personal stories and specific details about places, makes your posts more appealing to other Local Guides. For more information on how to do this, you may check Friday Favourites. Who knows, your post might get featured one day.
@GNaz sound fabulous! Since you mentioned about article being featured, is there a special reward, badge or something? I was curious since other days someone asked me what do I get from here?*
@Sophia_Cambodia There is no special reward. The only thing is that your post will be seen by many members and you will have the chance to know other Local Guides who have similar interests with you.
