Wow! This is so refreshing! @AjitThite
How about Kayaks?
I loved that you included places to visit nearby
Are there lifeguards nearby in case there is a water mishap or an accident?
Is there a clinic nearby?
Are there life jackets?
How far is Pune to this place?
@SalmaanN have you been here?

I have been to Kodaikanal couple of times and it’s one of my favorite destinations. Among the list of places highlighted by Ajit Sir, I remember Coaker’s Walk, Guna Cave, Kodaikanal Pine Forest. Kodaikanal is such an amazing place and it mesmerize me everytime. While boating, life jackets will be provided and Pune is much far from Kodaikanal. It’s around 1300+ kms. Thanks for tagging me.
@AjitThite The photos are breathtakingly beautiful and I am hoping to visit Kodaikanal soon. Thank you for this post.
Thanks a lot @Ewaade_3A !!
“YES” is the answer to most of your questions dear and since I am not into boating to be honest; I hardly looked for types of it. It was mostly small pendaled by the company person and self-pedaled boats were available. I am not sure why few didn’t wear the life jackets but authorities might have spoken to them later but at least we had it on when we went for the ride. Since the weather was cloudy and getting chiiled, and also the boating area was very crowdy, we spent the majority of my time roaming around the lake, seeking for hot tea stalls, riding bicycles.
it’s very far from my city Pune; almost 1300 Km/815 miles drive, the best way to reach thier is by Train but still it will a day’s journey, and fastest by air via Bengaluru or Chennai (at least 6-7 hrs). We had travelled by the train.
Ya, @SalmaanN must have been visited frequently here.
Cheers!

You are most welcome, @AjitThite Sir. I guess the song is Pukarta Chala hu main…
Thanks for your comment @SalmaanN
@AjitThite wow! you travelled quite a long time to reach here, I am glad you enjoyed your journey, here. recounting your memories has left a beautiful smile on my face. Thanks for sharing
@SalmaanN , I suppose Jo Jita wahi Sikander was correct and not sure about the song you pointed out though! I am surea number of tamil (regional language) films must have shot there. Well, you seem to be a movie buff!!
Thanks.
Cheers!
I am really glad you liked it @Ewaade_3A .
Yes, it was a long distance travel but we had itinerary set with break journey visiting famous towns on the way there. It was like Pune - Bengaluru (a metro city in Karnataka) - Mysore or Mysuru(famous palaces, heritage structures) - Kodaikanal and same route return journey, so we were not tired. Overall 10 days were planned with all the bookings. It was fun though with family and friends.
Cheers!
Thanks for telling about the song, @AjitThite Sir. I was guessing it as Pukarta Chala hoon mainsong. And yes there were so many songs and movies have been shot in Kodaikanal. Guna Caves has been named after the tamil movie, Guna which was shot in that cave. Kodaikanal Pine Forest is one of my favorite tourist spots in Kodaikanal.
sure i will take your help @AjitThite bhau before going to that area.
Hi @AjitThite
Very nicely written article
I like the idea of renting bicycles at hill stations and we have done that in Mahabaleshwar.
But the bicycle use was limited to the hotel resort premises.
It seems very enjoyable to take a bicycle all over the place.
The photos with the fog look amazing.
