The Kodaikanal Lake, also known as Kodai Lake is a center of attraction of Kodaikanal hill station in Tamil Nadu state of south India. It is a man-made lake created at a height of 2285 metres in 1863 by Sir Vere Henry Levinge, then the Collector of Madurai. The lake is within a short walk from the Kodai Bus Station. The Kodaikanal town was developed by the Britishers and early missionaries from the USA. We visited it few years back but the wonderful memories of it are still with us. Wishing to visit again if I get a chance!
In the foggy evening, visitors enjoy boating at Kodai Lake.
There are many famous places to visit around but the Kodaikanal Lake is a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate. It is an excellent location and surrounded by a variety of resorts from luxury to budget to make the most of your visit. There are things that will keep you occupied while adding to the enjoyment and significance of this location. There is a bicycle rental station near the lake where you can rent a bicycle on an hourly basis to ride along the lake’s side. The two-seater bicycle was our favourite. That was the most enjoyable time we spent there. During our stay, we spent the majority of our evenings around here.
It was very foggy but visitors were still insisting for the boating.
