There was tremendous anxiety while going through that. The road is narrow and becomes slippery because of melting ice. Twice, our car had to reverse by several meters to give way to security force’s convoys.
The real thrill was a walk at the highest point. Every step was strenuous. Reason? Lack of oxygen!
We wanted to have some fun in the snow. However, our tour manager came running & hustled everybody in their cars.
Exposure to the rarefied air for more than fifteen minutes would have landed everybody in deep trouble!
@C_T In your first picture is the massive Karakorum which is 3 km higher than the pass, k2 is also near the clouds
Your picture is successful
Thank you very much
However, I still doubt that. I remember, the click was while the camera was pointing towards the Nubra valley and that’s at right angles to the direction implied by you.
I walked a lot on mountain ridges and on beautiful days I had the chance to see other mountains at over 200 km. in my country the highest mountain has 2,544 m, and you can see the ridge of the respective mountain range and from 300 kilometers, I have mountaineering friends who have seen something like this in clear days. we can easily distinguish them because we have several mountain ranges. there are mountains all over you and I think it’s much harder to find their position
