Kesar Da Dhaba, Amritsar

Kesar Di Special Thaali

Amidst the old lanes of Amritsar, ’ KESAR’, a dhaba running successfully for more than 100 years.

Located in the heart of the city, in an extremely conjusted lane full of Indian and Foreign tourist standing in long ques waiting for their turn to explore one the best traditional punjabi food.

A very old, desi kind of a seating space, improvised seating with cubicles and a huge kitchen adjacent to the seating space. Still serves in steel plates and steel glasses. A person sitting there will actually feel sitting in a traditional punjabi family and having food.

The food was served in precisely 5 mins after it was ordered. An averagely priced dhaba which is pocket friendly even when accompanied with a family group.

The food was extremely rich with complete blend of Indian spices and desi ghee. The naan served was extremely soft and was in layers with a topping of carrom seeds which helps in digestion. Dal Makhani, one of its specialities, its USP was extremely rich and tasted yumm.

Seasonal matar pulav and paneer tasted homemade, rich in taste and flavors with no spices and can be consumed by anyone very easily.

I love when a local restaurant manages to create something so good that people are waiting in line just to get a bite @zaikachaltechalte ,. That really means the food is top quality and that is what counts. They don’t need to overcompensate with fancy interior when they have something unique on the menu.

I must say it looks amazing from your photo, I would love to give it a try myself!

Absolutely @MortenSI …and believe you me, you will relish every single bite you gulp in and feel the rich heritage of the country

I hope I will @zaikachaltechalte , that’s always the aim when trying food from a different country, and Indian cuisine is probably my favorite of all times.

I could eat Indian food for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. The hard part is finding real authentic Indian food here in Europe, so I hope I get to try the real thing one day.

Thats the spirit brother @MortenSI . Have Fun !
