Hello Guides, to be part of this celebration of nature, and to enter our friend’s @TravellerG Challenge, today I want to bring you a park that I discovered this month in Mississauga/Ontario - Kariya Park ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/FBuxKH8qcVvYLdn16 ).
The park brings back memories of the Japanese community in the city of Mississauga and celebrates the community. It offers a place to be in touch with nature amidst a vast array of buildings and streets.
Its typically Japanese sculptures, lakes and bridge evoke the tranquility and peace of the environment.
With the arrival of spring and the improvement in the weather, the park became even more beautiful, as it was filled with cherry blossom trees. Cherry blossoms are a symbol of peace, harmony, beauty and tranquility, and mark the change of seasons - from winter to spring. Due to the large number of people within the Asian community in Canada, the country is surrounded by cherry blossom trees, and at this time of year it attracts many observers and tourists.
The park has two entrances, one main entrance with an accessibility ramp for visitors with disabilities, and one with stairs. Inside the park, you can walk around easily, as its small walking path allows access with walkers, wheelchairs and canes. Unfortunately, there are no public restrooms on site, since the park is small, but you can use the local businesses (shopping malls, stores, restaurants). There are paid parking lots in front of the park, but there are also private parking lots.
It is a beautiful walk and worth seeing for anyone passing through Mississauga.
One note: please do not pull branches from trees for photos or pick leaves and flowers, let nature do its natural process without damaging it. Unfortunately, I saw many people hanging from tree branches to take photos and this deeply saddens me.
I hope you enjoy it.
