Couple of weeks ago I have travelled to eastern and hilli district Rangamati of Bangladesh. I have visited a few tourist places in Rangamati, today I will share my travel experience at Kaptai Lake, in Rangamati with local guides in the connect forum.
The Kaptai Lake is one of the popular tourist attractions in Rangamati district, and it is one of the largest lake in Bangladesh. The lake is located on Karnaphuli River in Rangamati district. The lake was not built naturally but it was created due to Kaptai Dam called the Kaptai Dam. The water dam was built to produce electricity from using river water.
The Government was built this dam in the year 1956 on the Karnaphuli river near Bharjyatali area at Kaptai upazila. As a result, to build the dam the firming lands and house went to underwater and many thousands of people left the place to nearby areas. Due to their displacement, we get this beautiful place as a tourist attraction place.
Now this lake is a natural source of our electricity, fishing and a popular tourist attraction place. Now a days local tourism is growing rapidly.
Boat is now become a common transport for the local peoples and those living in the small island in the kaptai lake area. Tourist can hire a boat and can enjoy boating on the Kaptai Lake for a day or on demand. A lot of small islands in the lake so anyone can go there and can enjoy natural beauty of the islands and explore the kaptai lake.
Kaptai Lake is truly a beautiful and tranquil spot. Iâve been fortunate to visit this lake, and the views are breathtaking. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and hills and is filled with crystal-clear water. Itâs a great spot to take pictures, relax, and take in the scenery.
