Kainchi Dham is a beautiful secluded hill ashram situated in the hills of Kumaon in Uttarakhand, the foundation of which was laid by Neem Karoli Baba who was also a sadhak and a philosopher.
This was the place where Premi Baba and Somraj Baba used to remain engrossed in their meditation. It was marked by Kainchi resident Purnanand, who was an old acquaintance of Baba. After taking this land on lease from the forest department, a Hanuman temple and other temples were established. Along with this, a huge ashram was established.
The number of devotees coming kept increasing and a series of bhandaras, bhajans and kirtans started here. It is necessary for the people living in the ashram to follow the prescribed rules. By coming here, the devotees come out of mental disorders and contribute to the progress of the society with creative thinking. Every year on 15 June Pratishtha Diwas is celebrated, in which thousands of devotees from the country and abroad reach here to participate.
Kainchi Dham holds special importance in the life of every devotee. It is here that Ramdas and other western people like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple founder Steve Jobs etc. spent a great time with Maharajji in this ashram. All devotees must visit this temple at least once even tourists as it’s a famous tourist attraction.
