Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha.-Happy Maharashtra Day! 1st May 2025

Hello Local Guides.

Maharashtra is a land of brave warriors like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Sambhaji Raje and Tanhaji were know as Lion Maratha Warrior.

“There are many inspiring movies and serials based on the brave warriors of Maharashtra. Chhaava, the latest release, beautifully portrays the valiant life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”

Maharashtra also of great reformers like Savitribai Phule from Naigaon, a village in Maharashtra first female teacher of India, who opened a school for girls in a time when education for women was rare.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak a true visionary, he was called …

“The Maker of Modern India”

He organized public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi (Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav ) to unite people across castes and communities.

There many more famous personality born in Maharashtra

We celebrate 1st May not only as Maharashtra Day but also as Labour Day, to honour the hardworking spirit of our people.

In Maharashtra Mumbai, we don’t just celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi—we celebrate Eid, Diwali, Christmas, Holi, and all festivals together. This unity in diversity is the true strength of Maharashtra. Today, Maharashtra is progressing in every field—from arts and culture to industry and innovation—and I feel truly proud to be a Maharashtrian.

I know to speak Marathi also .

“In Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, people from all over the world are welcomed with open hearts. Not just Bollywood stars from different states, but even Hollywood actors and foreigners come here for work, and some even settle down. Films like “Slumdog Millionaire” and many others movies have been shot in places like Dharavi. Mumbai offers stories, opportunities, and a home to everyone—some stay, some come to shoot and earn, and then return. But all are welcomed warmly, beyond caste, creed, or country.”

Respecting each other’s cultures and histories is so important, especially on social media. It’s a platform where we can connect with people from all around the world, and treating each other with kindness and understanding helps build a more positive community.

In the 16th century, The well known Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the founder of Maratha emperor, if i am not mistaken.

The ultra famous Maharashtra 's street food like vada pav, pav vaji, misal pav, vel puri, sevpuri were just amazing. The thecha is the ultimate spice combination. Poha, sabudana khichdi, puran phohli, basundi i think they are famous delicacy also.

Thank you for sharing @RosyKohli

Wow..! @Trishatishu you know quite a lot about Maharashtra, located far away
Did you visit here before?
Thecha is a food item that very few can stand the spiciness :face_savoring_food:

Also, another interesting bit about Ch. Shivaji, since you are from Bangladesh.

Shivaji Maharaj created the Maratha Empire, expanded all over India, and also ventured into Bengal.

The limit to which they extended their rule later became the line dividing India and Bangladesh today.

No i have never been to there. But I read some article about Mararastrian history and cuisines. I have followed Indian chef Ranveer Brar. His recipe is outstanding. I love thecha and poha., used to make in my kitchen, from the help of YouTube. Thank you for sharing the history of Ch. Shibaji @TusharSuradkar
