The Vijaya Stambha, or Victory Tower, stands as a grand monument of triumph within the Chittorgarh Fort. Commissioned by Rana Kumbha, it commemorates his 1448 victory over the combined forces of Malwa and Gujarat.

This magnificent tower soars to a height of 37.2 meters and is built with nine stories. Each level is adorned with a balcony, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the fort and surrounding landscape.

The exterior walls are a veritable textbook of Hindu iconography, covered in intricate carvings of gods, goddesses, and scenes from epics. The detailed sculptures and ornamentation are a testament to the skill of the artisans.

Inside, a narrow staircase of 157 steps winds its way to the top. The interior walls feature carvings of musical instruments, weapons, and historical inscriptions detailing the genealogy of the Mewar rulers.

The Vijaya Stambha is a stunning example of Rajput architecture and religious pluralism. Its enduring presence and artistry make it a truly inspiring historical masterpiece and a must see for visitors.
