During a recent review of Phnom Penh map data, I noticed several gas stations labeled with the name “PTT (Siam)”, such as:
- PTT (Siam) Gas Station | 163 Street
- PTT (Siam) Borey Keila
- PTT (Siam) Koh Krob Bay
- PTT (Siam) Wat Russey Sanh
These stations appear under the “PTT (Siam)” brand, which seems incorrect or misleading for locations inside Cambodia.
Inaccurate use of “(Siam)” could confuse users and affect local business identity and national mapping accuracy.
Category: Wrong business name / misleading label
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Problem: The term “Siam” refers to Thailand and should not be included in Cambodian PTT listings unless officially registered.
Suggestion: Remove the word “(Siam)” from all Cambodian PTT station names to ensure proper and neutral identification as “PTT Gas Station”.
This aligns with our previous Google Maps Location Violations Investigation Report (2025), where we identified multiple cases of inappropriate or cross-border naming that could impact Cambodia’s digital sovereignty and business accuracy.
