Is it normal : Google asking for validation for a business which was already validated ?

Hello eveyrone,

sorry for all the questions (and unhappiness here), but I really don’t understand how it works here…

I have a small business listing, the place was validated years ago… no problem.

Over time, I noticed that sometimes google put wrong information on my business listing without even asking me first…I guess based on suggestions from users…what if these users are competitors trying to harm my business ? (every time, it was wrong information…there REALLY SHOULD BE an APPROVAL system here which is completely missing…). Just ask first to the owner of the modification is accurate or not …instead of putting nonsense online on the map…

now today, I saw that my business location had moved really far away from the good adress …without asking me first…and of course, we don’t know why, Google has validated that wrong information and is showing it publicly…complete nonsense…
Accordingly, I am trying to modify again and put back the good information, guess what ? I can"t, it is asking me to “validate” the business listing…but I had already done that years ago…(a complete waste of my time…)
and it is even more complicated than before…I have to take a video :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob:

well sorry to say here, but lots of improvements should be done to GOOGLE MAPS…
How do I fix this mess ?
thank you for help

Hi @GeraldM

Thanks for asking. This forum is for volunteer local guides only. As you can see here: “Organizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Local Guides Program”.
Business owners have their own help pages and forum.

Here is the GBP help center and you find the GBP forum here.

The interests of a business owner and a local guide should not be mixed since there can be conflicts of interest. So please delete your account here on Connect should your primary interest be your business.

Cheers
Morten

Hello @MortenCopenhagen
as far as I am concerned, I am both local guide and business owner. I have been contributing as a local guide for years and years…

as local guide, I really enjoy my experience with Google Maps, and I really like to contribute
as a business owner, I am really surprised and shocked to see that anyone can suggest anything on the map…and the system validates even wrong and inacurrate informations…

clearly, some improvements should be done …just sharing here
thanks.
