I love to be a local guide as i can cherish to discover places, people, cuisines and get them straight on the Map for a whole lot of people to discover and enjoy.
I was traveling with a friend to meet someone in a hospital at Grant road, Mumbai. This got over by around 4:00 pm and we thought to bump in a near by restaurant or cafe to have tea. As we walk a few steps from the Reliance hospital, on the signal we see a decent place named as Irani Bakery. Not that this place was not discovered so far, but the gentleman who was the Chef, Clearner, Cashier and Owner of the place was the key attraction for us. Not to mention that his tea and Egg dishes were nothing less than awesome. his dedication towards his work and his customers was so appealing that we had spent almost an hour discussing with him about how and when he started and why would he pursue a customer so much that he wouldn’t let him leave without having his tea.
The place was owned by his grandfather and as the gentleman mentions, it is from his Grandfather he learnt the art of baking and the cuisines that he makes.
The gentleman that i talk about is Mr Humin Irani. With his permission i mention his name here. I recommend you to have a tea and some snacks if you are around this place. I bet you you will be mesmerized by the warmth and affection.
