Thanks dear friend @DeniGu for this wonderful announcement which is going to be a great motivation for 360 photographers to posses blue lines & the kms - I’m sure, it’s going to be interesting…
A photo path is a great help if 360 photos are not available, @SholaIB
Obviously there is a difference between an Immersive 360 and a Flat photo, but the amount of information that you give to the users and to Maps with a photo path is huge.
An indication about how the Photo path will be shown in Maps can be found in: Capture & publish a Photo Path with your phone : “You may also be able to view your Photo Path in the Google Maps Street View layer if you’ve contributed in an area where there are no existing Street View images. Photo Paths appear as dotted blue lines in the Street View layer on your mobile device.”
So please keep contributing with photo path too, like I do, to provide always updated information in Google Maps
That’s a very consoling and appropriate response. I don’t feel bad anymore that I can’t really contribute a proper blue line anymore. Thank you for the reference and explanations. Yes I keep contributing 360° photos and Photo Path as well. I’ll be interested in anything that makes the maps better because it’s useful for me as well.
That’s why I was asking for ask the Googler series which up till now we haven’t been able to resume it. They’ll cover points and topics like this one. Nevertheless I’ll ask you as the need arises seeing you can help.
All these illustrations, thank you. By the way I got to view the images of my dotted lines as well. Just like the one you posted. I might share one sometime when I get back to my desktop. It’s good enough to be able to contribute a photopath really
I am out and about at this stage. Not feeling bad anymore infact feeling good . Thank you.
