I joined recently and I am finding Local Guides Connect really useful. Guides contributing you actually make me want to travel more

It’s time to introduce myself.

I am Australian, living in Egypt since 2010. I have been travelling internationally since the 1980s, before Google Maps existed. It has become an invaluable travel assistant for me, sometimes in unexpected ways.
Example: freezing cold on a rainy day in Florence, Italy and I could not remember the name or location of a shop I had visited there some years before…Google Maps reviews to the rescue, and I was soon warmed up by a perfect hot chocolate drink and ready to continue exploring the city.

I hope to share my perspective on places I visit, including photos, to assist travellers to have the best possible experience.

Egypt often raises a lot of questions from travellers, and I aim to answer those when I can.

Fun fact: I had never snorkelled before I moved to the Red Sea at age 52, and this quickly became a passion because of the magnificent reefs here. I believe there is no age too late for travel adventures and learn.

I visited Jamia Arabia Madarsa in Hathaura, and I found it to be an excellent institution for Islamic education and moral values. The madarsa offers comprehensive Quranic teachings along with lessons on good manners and discipline. The teachers are very knowledgeable, kind, and supportive towards the students. The environment is calm, peaceful, and well-maintained, with good cleanliness standards. They also provide proper facilities for students’ accommodation and meals. Overall, Jamia Arabia Madarsa is a respectable place for anyone seeking quality Islamic learning in Hathaura.
