Hey there everyone!

I didn’t even know this guide connect page existed.

On with the introduction,

My name is Dan but everyone calls me Nubbs

I currently live in Amsterdam, Netherlands

I enjoy being a local guide because I like to share my experience with others in hopes that I am able to help both other locals and visitors make informed decisions with regards to what to do with their time and money. I want everyone to have the best possible experience in any city I can help in.

I like to upload photos on google maps because I feel happy helping other people find the place they need. The results of a review of the place or restaurant that I wrote were also experiences when I was visiting the place and when I tried the food at the restaurant or eating place so that it could help people make decisions about whether they were visiting the place.

Excellent to finally be here

Well, my name is Jonas and I come from the cold country of Sweden. After several weeks of unatural warmth we all thought spring was here, but todays snowfall crushed that thought.

About me

I live in Gothenburg Sweden, I am a database programmer that loves to travel and see new places and strangely enough my employer lets me do that. I love photography, movies, history and some leisurely gaming.

Last year, me and my 12-year-old son flew to London, bought an Interrail pass and went by train around Western Europe to see everything from Stonehenge, to the Rosetta stone, Bayoux tapestry and the Normandie beaches. A trip I hope he will remember all his life. And one of the best ones in my life as well.

This summer we plan to do it again - but through straight down through Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

We planned nothing - but booked hotels on the fly and checked Google fot good spots to visit.

I can highly recommend it (though - planning could be useful since trains from London to Paris tend to be booked months in advance).

Me and Local Guides

I’ve been contributing to Local Guide for some years and slowly been taking it more and more serious, and now I can’t wait to throw myself into adding thoughts and pictures from recent trips into Local Guides.

I see the rich potential of user added experiences and I think that Local Guides is an excellent venue to bring forth those experiences.

Local Guides Connect is mostly unknown to me and feels like an excellent next step and I hope I will bring something to the table.

Looking forward to get started!!!

This is the first time for me. I am using google maps to help peolpe show the places that i have visited. I am a proffesional drone pilot with license and making short movies/ clips ( see my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/c2td0gt6) and shots and shots) from a different angle that will give people a different kind of view of places that i have been to. Google Maps is a wonderful platform to know things and attractions around us, with complete data and information. I love to be part of Local Guide as it helps me to feed real and authentic data to the different google local places.

keep you guys updated.

Cheers

Hi, I’m Dee. In other words I’m dee man. But on a more serious note, what’s really interesting about being a Local Guide to me is giving others the advance notice of what to expect when they visit a particular location. I try putting myself in someone else shoes which is the other side of the counter. I’m an individual that before I go somewhere I look at the reviews. So these reviews that we receive and put out are very helpful and informative. So in submitting my reviews I am giving back to the community of which it has given too me.

Hello @Greenn65 ,

Welcome to Connect!

Thank you for sharing your photo with us. I’ve been three times to Rome, but never went on the top of St Peter’s Cathedral, maybe because I had enough of waiting in the crowd.
