What led me to become a local guide:
Witnessing the difference a good review made for my experiences. Whether it was good, an event, a business, seeing a true genuine review from a local guide could make or break my experience. At the same time seeing a wonderful place lacking reviews or information was also sad to see. So, I took it upon myself, many times to be the one to make the difference for the next visitor.

Favorite Place to Explore: Food. Wherever I go, it’s the food that makes the biggest difference and makes me most excited to travel!

This is amazing. I have always wondered if there was a way to connect with Local guides around the world and finally we got it. Thanks to all who made it possible.

3. What led you to become a Local Guide: I still remember there was an event I was travelling to in another city and I saw some accident on route. I was driving and I said in the car “how does google make the road red suddenly”, very rookie question. And then someone in the car said ohh you don’t know, you can use this plus sign and report accident or police or closure. And I was surprised like “really, we can do that”. And then it started and then came my first review. And while I was starting my journey into photography, I started doing food photography as well and then it led to making lists of my favourite restaurants. Everybody told me to make money off doing food vlogging and all but to me there was so much more to it than money. Being a local guide on maps gave me a purpose to be helpful to the community by reporting unfortunate events, updating new addresses and sharing my thoughts exactly how I would like a review to be so that anyone who reads my review knows whether they are going to find the food (applies to restaurants only 
) of their choice or not.
4. My favorite thing to explore: Restaurants!!! FOOD is Life
I love to cook and I love to eat. The aroma of food makes me happy. My goal is to be able to go out and review a new restaurant daily. There’s so many wonderful stories that are shared over a dining table. So FOOD is my answer.
5. Fun fact about me: If we plan a trip together, I got you. You are getting professional photos that you’ll love forever. And I wont make you wait a month. Because I love to click photos and share them as soon as I reach home. You want to go meditation, I am up, You want to go try new cuisines, I am up, You want to lie in pool, I am already there

Hi everyone! My name is Ghading and I am a Local Guide Level 7 from Balikpapan, Indonesia.
I love being a Local Guide because it allows me to help others discover great places. My favorite things to contribute on Google Maps are photos of hidden gem cafes, detailed reviews of local food.
When I’m not exploring with Google Maps, you can usually find me brewing coffee at Blob Coffee Bar Balikpapan, running around town and playing tennis.
