Hi @TanjilMuhammadTamim

I hope you will allow me to share a comment on sharing photos of the sky and clouds on Google Maps.

The photo guidelines says that our photos should clearly show the places. Just showing the sky and dramatic clouds are not really helpful to Maps users who want to understand a place to decide if they will pay a visit or not. I’m pretty sure no future visitors will find and see what this photo shows.

So my interpretation of the guidelines is that such photos should not be shared on Google Maps. Just like selfies and private group photos should not be on Google Maps. Also, close up photos of flowers and pets should be avoided as they do not clearly show the places. Sunsets and sunrises are other examples of what many like to photograph and share. But please save them for another platform than Google Maps.

Let me know what you think.

I’m happy that your photos might spark an interested discussion on what are helpful Maps photos.

Thanks.

:glowing_star: Hi everyone! :glowing_star:

I’m Sharad Taori, a Local Guide from the vibrant city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It’s so exciting to be part of this incredible community where we all come together to share, guide, and make exploring the world a little easier for everyone!

What I love about being a Local Guide:
I absolutely enjoy discovering and highlighting the charm of local businesses — from humble little food joints serving soul‑warming poha and tarri, to serene hidden temples and colorful street markets. It’s so fulfilling to know that my reviews and photos help others find these gems and support the people behind them.

My favorite thing to explore:
I’m passionate about finding places that tell stories — be it cultural spots, quiet green corners of the city, or even the new coworking spaces popping up for creative minds. Every place has a story waiting to be told, and I love capturing that!

A fun fact about me:
When I’m not out exploring, I’m working on building impactful educational models that help people grow and thrive — and yes, I often mix work and travel because both are such big parts of who I am. And wherever I go, my camera is always with me to catch the spirit of the place.

Looking forward to reading all your inspiring stories and connecting with fellow explorers from around the world! Let’s keep spreading positivity, one review at a time. :sparkles:

:glowing_star: Hello, Amazing Local Guides! Sharad Here — Celebrating the Power of Our Contributions :globe_showing_asia_australia:

Hi everyone,

I’m Sharad Taori, a proud Level 9 Local Guide from India, and it’s an honor to join and introduce myself to this inspiring global family of contributors.

I began my Local Guides journey with a simple goal — to help others make better choices, discover hidden gems, and feel more confident while exploring their surroundings. What I didn’t realize back then was how deeply meaningful this journey would become for me.

From adding accurate details, to sharing honest reviews, to capturing moments that tell a place’s story — every single contribution feels like a step toward making the world a little more connected and accessible. Recently, I was humbled to earn the “Expert Director” badge, which has fueled me to dream bigger: imagining how we can better recognize and celebrate the incredible impact of contributors like all of you.

:sparkles: What excites me most about this community is how we quietly touch millions of lives, without even meeting most of the people we help. That silent, positive impact is what keeps me motivated to contribute more, and now, to also champion the idea of recognition and appreciation for every Local Guide who makes a difference.

I’m here to:
:seedling: Learn from all your inspiring journeys.
:seedling: Share ideas that elevate the spirit of contribution.
:seedling: Collaborate with anyone who believes our efforts deserve to shine.

I look forward to connecting with fellow Guides from across the world, exchanging stories, and working together to build a culture of recognition that inspires even more people to join this beautiful mission.

Let’s make every review, every photo, and every edit count — and let’s celebrate every milestone, no matter how small.

Looking forward to hearing your stories and sharing mine.
