🧘‍♀️ International Yoga Day & World Music Day 2025 🎼– A Harmony of Body, Mind & Soul - TravellerG

Hello, dear friends,

June 21st is a unique day where two beautiful worlds unite — International Yoga Day and World Music Day. Both Yoga and Music have a profound impact on our well-being, offering harmony, peace, and healing in our everyday lives.

YOGA

Yoga, an ancient Indian practice, connects the body and mind through ‘Asanas’ (poses) and ‘Pranayama’ (breathing movements). It promotes inner peace, physical flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health", which echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.

Here are a few photos/Asanas from yesterday’s Yoga Session (photographed by my wife).

The pose is known as ‘Matsyasana’

The left pose is ‘Vrikshasana’, and the right one is ‘Gomukhasana’.

Music

On the same day, we tune into World Music Day, a celebration that transcends boundaries. Music, like yoga, is a universal language. It soothes, energises, and connects us. From classical ragas to modern rhythms, music lifts the spirit just as yoga grounds the soul. The theme for World Music Day 2025 is “Healing Through Harmony”. It shows the power of music.

Our collection of musical instruments, at home; I used to play these instruments, once upon a time…

My favourite instruments that I used for professional performances decades ago.

Our home mini-studio for ‘Audio-Visual editing and Post-Production’.
Together, Yoga and Music form a perfect symphony — calming, inspiring, and deeply human.

Whether you’re stretching into a yoga pose or swaying to a soulful tune today, take a moment to appreciate the beauty of both these timeless arts.

🧘‍♀️🎶 Happy Yoga & Music Day! !:musical_notes:|17x17🧘‍♂️

Hope you all will enjoy the article & photos.

What a beautiful and heartfelt post @TravellerG Sir.

Loved how you seamlessly brought together the essence of Yoga and Music — both ancient, both healing, both universal. Your personal touch, from the asana photos to your cherished instrument collection, adds so much depth.

Wishing you continued peace and rhythm in all that you do.
By the way, do you still play the sitar or tabla occasionally? Would love to hear more about your musical journey!

I totally agree with you, @TravellerG sir. A great combo of Yoga and music!

I liked these definitions: Yoga is a sacred symphony of mind, body, and soul that is harmonized by breath, movement, and stillness—where the universe’s music guides the rhythm of self-discovery, inner peace, and oneness with existence. And both help us keep our souls clean and relaxed.

Cheers!

Happy yoga and music day @TravellerG :woman_in_lotus_position:t4:. I love Yoga and although I’m not regularly practicing it as I want it to be, I do feel the benefits of yoga since my university days and love it till now. My favorite poses are child pose, cobra, downward dogs, virakasana, and more. Apologies if the names are not accurate :folded_hands:.

I remember joining the celebration of International Yoga day as it was first announced at the United Nations back in 2015 with the passing of relevant UN General Assembly resolution on this. Then I was honored to become the MC for the next celebration of the International Yoga Day in the UN. Wonderful celebration indeed! Here are some of the mementos from that event..

As for the music, I’m a big fan! It runs in my family and my husband, my late dad, my brothers, and my daughter play instruments, especially guitar and bass.

As for me, not very good at playing particular instruments but I just love singing & dancing :innocent::folded_hands:

Thank you for sharing this once again, Sir. Stay happy and healthy… And Happy international yoga and music day, everyone..

To be frank with you, every weekend, we had musical sessions at my house till 2019… however, after Covid, it stopped…

Well, when our dear @ModNomad visited my home, we had a jugalbandi… I enjoyed a lot playing with him… thanks, dear Deepak.

Hello dear @AjitThite Ji…

According to me, your definition of Yoga and Music is suitable for human life…
“Music of Stillness” … Meditation…then Pranayama…
How classical is our ancestors life?

Thank you very much for your kind response and support.
