Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPwD) 2025

One Accessibility Meet-up in San Jose, California

Every year, on December 3, we commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPwD), highlighting the importance of fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress. The theme for 2025, “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” emphasizes the need to break down barriers and promote inclusivity in our communities.

With over one billion people living with disabilities worldwide, it’s crucial we work together to ensure equal opportunities. Local Guides have been instrumental in fostering inclusion by adding millions of information on Google Maps and hosting meetups to create awareness in our communities.

One Accessibility Initiative has been going the extra mile to increase awareness through our weekly articles known as Accessibility Uncovered and also getting experts to share their experiences via our webinar series for 5 years running.

As part of our annual commemoration, we’re hosting WAW from December 3-13, 2025, and a virtual meet-up to explore inclusive design and accessible environments.
