Hello community.
Perhaps my problem is not related to this forum, but I do not know where to turn.
Over the past month, we have been receiving negative reviews with one star on the company profile. Most of them are published from accounts that have only one review each - for us. And of course, these “clients” never applied to us for services.
Through the feedback management tool, the system considered it necessary to remove only one of a dozen fake reviews. For the rest - refusals.
On the GMB support forum, they could only advise to answer these fake reviews. But what about the rating in this case? It turns out that an attacker (s), using imperfect verification algorithms, can easily lower it, given the initially small number of reviews about the company profile?
How can we prevent intentionally downgrading a business or stopping reviews from being posted?
Sometimes I see ratings when using Maps on a computer (not mobile). Towards the end of all reviews you might be able to flag what you consider to be fake ratings.
Isn’t it absolutely silly and crazy and nonsense that you have to report on this because people are doing this? I mean honestly people are going out of their way if if people really I’ve never heard of this but if people are doing this I mean it’s almost like it’s stupid as having to tell somebody not be careful that coffee is hot, don’t do something bad to somebody else I mean that’s just crazy
But there is an entire industry trying to sell fake reviews to who ever will pay them for posting them. It goes both ways. You can buy fake negative reviews and ratings to be posted on your competitors’ pins. Or you can buy false positive reviews to be posted to your own business on Google Maps.
Do what? Sell fake reviews? Lack of a business needs good reviews for Google or something, they can just pay somebody and he’ll get them however many they need? None of them being real?
You know, if I was a bad person, I sure would be thinking right now that I’m in the wrong business. You know when I think of something bad, I’m thinking, bank robbery or like something you know that is a common bad guy move, I’m not thinking, you can make a lot of money just people paying you out of the blue so that you can just write a few words and the entire thing be just made up I mean really you’ve got to sit around for a long period of time having nothing to do to think of some of the things that I’ve read over the past couple of weeks I mean I do doordash you know what’s happened to me a couple of times is I’ll get the order and obviously I’ll be close to the restaurant so nine times out of 10, the restaurant don’t even have the food made yet. Now those few times that they do it’s because maybe I had to go pick up something else prior to getting there, and by the time I get there guess what somebody’s already picked up my food well my names on it. It’s not like anybody can get the names confused because my name is Britain like the country, very rarely do I meet anybody named Britain. However they pretend to be Britain because they grab a sack full of food, it’s to the point now where people at doordash are having the restaurants so now the restaurants are having to say hey let me see your phone so I can make sure you’re the one supposed to pick up this order, I mean it’s people are just blow me away really, I mean the amount of things that people are going to do either get something now look, I used to be a police officer, and obviously one of the things that we deal with this theft. I’ve called people stealing $30,000 jewelry, I’ve tracedown guys that still closed out of a high-end merchant. But then again I’ve also been sent to the home of the lady who stole things, but yet what she did was she stole four eggs out of the egg carton, not the whole carton not anything else, literally just for eggs. When I showed up and found out what it was come to find out she was the guardian of her grandchildren and there happened to be four of them. And so the situation like that, a little bit different. That’s where I will throw the people in the back of my car for stealing those other things, I wound up spending $200 and taking the woman to the grocery store and I mean obviously I did not charge her with anything so I made sure that we went to the same store the exact same grocery store that she had taken that from we went and shop there so that she had the opportunity to let the manager know what the deal was, and I had already spoken to him and told him the scenario so that she could feel like you know a little bit more private about being vague but reality the manage already know and already dropped the case but I wanted her to feel like her apology made it to where they dropped it anyway long story short, people are seriously just amazing. There are some few of us left but, I have a fear it’s getting pretty slim Pickens
