Integrity of Google Reviews

In 2022 I had a very bad expirience with an attorney in the city I lived in. I wrote a review, took a screen shot of it and posted it under the lawyers name. The facts were acurate, honest, contained no profanity, and was profesional in nature.
The review was taken down.
I was never contacted regarding the review, I was never asked if I could prove what I had written, and I was later threatened by the attorney via email.
My question is, “If the negative reviews can be removed from
Google Reviews then how honest are the reviews?”
I was unable to contact anyone at Google for questions, or comments when the review was removed from the platform. Unfortuneately, the actions of said attorney have caused a ripple effect I am still contending with currently and this is literally the first opportunity I have had to re-address this issue.
Can someone please respond to this inquiry?

Hi @702VegasPlayze

Businesses can get reviews taken down if they violate the guidelines issued by Google. Not because they don’t like a negative review.

The guidelines are not easy to find, not easy to understand, and it is certainly not easy to follow them all.

Furthermore in some countries businesses can sue people if they think a review gave them a bad reputation.

Don’t expect Google to help you out here.

And personally I would consider not to get caught up in disputes over a Maps review.

We can assist you in finding the review guidelines if that is the route you want to try.
