Hello LG friends,
With the joyous occasion of Eid just a few days away, celebrations are about to begin worldwide. In many countries, including Bangladesh, there will be an extended public holiday for offices, schools, and colleges. In Bangladesh, we are looking forward to a 7-day government holiday this year.
During this time, most people leave the hustle and bustle of the city to head back to their ancestral villages to celebrate with their families. While the festivities keep us busy, we often find some leisure time during these long breaks. Why not dedicate a portion of that time to contributing to Google Maps? Your contributions can be incredibly impactful, especially in rural areas where the number of active Local Guides is relatively low.
How we can contribute during this Eid vacation:
-
Take a stroll around your village or neighborhood and capture high-quality photos of local landmarks, such as mosques, temples, schools, colleges, and historical sites. Uploading these to the map helps others find and navigate these locations more easily.
-
Since Eid is a time when friends and family gather, itâs a great opportunity to share about the Local Guides program with your friends. Sharing your experiences might inspire them to start contributing to the map as well.
-
Many of us visit popular tourist spots during the holidays. You can write a post here on Connect, sharing your travel stories along with photos and videos. This would be a fantastic resource for others planning to visit those places in the future.
I wish everyone a wonderful and safe Eid holiday. Letâs make this festive season meaningful by giving back to the community through our contributions.
Advance Eid Mubarak to all ![]()
