Indian Music Experience(IME) in Bangalore is India’s 1st Interactive music museum.
I recently visited this music, and it was an incredible experience. I recommend people of all age groups to visit this museum and experience the taste of Indian as well as contemporary music.
Music has always been a saviour and comforter, and I enjoy music very much. I listen to a wide variety of music across different languages and genres.
IME explains everything clearly about the history of music from the Vedic period to today’s modern music. You can listen to the music using headphones at each kiosk and read about the type of music, its history and the artists.
IME features several music types such as Hindustani classical music, Carnatic Music, Qawaali, Folk music, Film music and the list.
They even categorised music based on the period, such as Bakhti movement music and the Indian freedom struggle movement.
There are lesser-known stories about the histories of musical instruments such as the violin and the harmonium.
There is a stunning double-height display of over 100 musical instruments from across the country, along with information regarding every instrument.
100 luminaries of Indian music across various genres, regions and languages are featured here. You can pick any of them and listen to their work.
For the signing enthusiasts, there is a recording studio in the music where you can record while singing and make it a track that can be sent to your E-mail as a memory.
There are 9 galleries in the IME, and I must say all 9 are a piece of great work, and they share an incredible amount of knowledge and a fest to your ears and soul.
There are few musical instruments outside the museum on which you must try your hands.
