At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an “Arc-de-Triomphe” like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I.

@Hyder_MM que buena fotografía!!!
A very nice one which really look like the Paris version.
Originally these monuments were built in Italy (such as this one plazza del liberta in Firenze) then Napoleon the french emperor wanted to copy its architecture to celebrate military victories and french army supremacy.
Nowdays it serves more as a memorial for all soldiers who fell during wars, with an eternal flame that is rekindled daily.
In India they have a ceremony there that is held annually on January 26th.
