Incredible Ice Sculptures at the Ice Festival

@DENIT33

Yes, one of the reasons I cherish the photos is that the sculptures never last long! It’s quite interesting to watch them take the blocks of ice and create beautiful artwork. Here’s a photo of one of the sculptors at work:

How cool that you got to a chance to photograph them :hotdog: :camera_flash: @Reymono

It was actually a nice day for February, very sunny :sunglasses:

Glad you enjoyed the photos.

I had no idea that the Ice Festival was such a spectacular event. The detail in the ice sculptures is incredible, and it’s fantastic to see how the artists have created such intricate pieces. I can’t believe that this is the 29th year of the Festival. It’s a great way to celebrate the winter season! @Mikeinthefalls Thanks for sharing this beautiful Festival with us.

Wow @Mikeinthefalls , this is my kind of fun! Ice is really hard to take pictures of, and I must say you did a great job. Although I bet it looked even better in person.

Unfortunately no fun things like this in Macedonia (booo :slightly_smiling_face: ).

I did attend ICE at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida last year though, for the first time. Funny thing is, I used to work for Marriott for 5 years and had a chance to score tickets at a great price, but was never interested. Now I wish someone slapped me back then lol. The theme last year was The Grinch. It was amazing to see all the sculptures! So realistic and colorful! It was like walking through shots of the movie. Although the clear ice looks amazing too, especially outside in the sun. I have to admit, it felt not long enough and I went back for a second time lol

If you have a chance to experience it at any Gaylord hotel, I’d suggest you try it out! In Florida it’s especially fun though, because it’s so warm outside, and they chill the rooms to -9 F I believe. So you have to dress accordingly, or you will freeze! They do give out parkas for everyone thankfully :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s an amazing festival indeed @Mikeinthefalls . And look at all those sculptures with intricate details. Oh my… I can imagine how wonderful it is to be on the site and see all these great art works with your own eyes. And the fact that they are preparing it there on the spot… WOW!

Thanks for appreciating my photos @EvaBar the sun and shade made taking them a little challenging. But I’m glad you were still able to enjoy!

Now, this Orlando hotel ice festival sounds pretty amazing, as @MelTG said in her reply! I feel like attending one has to be a thing, now that you’ve shared them with us. Please let me know if you hear of another one, as I’ll be on the lookout. :ice_cube:

@indahnuria It was a lot to process, as there were multiple carvers running chainsaws while others chipped away with hand tools! But so very enjoyable to see all the intricate and whimsical carvings.

It’s an annual thing :slightly_smiling_face: Just Google Gaylord Palms ICE and you can see all details, they have a website dedicated to it. Nothing for this year yet, but keep checking. It is definitely worth going, especially if you can afford to stay at the resort.
