After consecutive rainy and typhoon days, as morning sun glinted off the waters of Mizumoto Park, the air was filled with the unmistakable, mouth-watering aroma of sizzling grilled dishes and the lively chatter of neighbors and families gathering for Green & Grill: Mizumoto Outdoor BBQ 2026
Being here not just as a attendee, but as a local contributor, my camera was out early. I started by pinning the updated event entrance, accessible paths, and designated waste-sorting stations on Google Maps to help newcomers navigate the park layout smoothly.
By 11:30 AM, the central barbecue area was thriving. Long wooden tables were brimming with fresh local produce, seafood, and perfectly seared meats and fish like yakiniku, kebab, salmon, soba noodles, on the grill. We will also have marinated corn, capsicum, cabbage, carrots and many more. For children there will be nuggest, rice ball, spaghetti and fruit drinks.
What made this event truly special was the strong community spirit. Between taking notes on accessibility features, wheelchair-friendly paths, and pet-designated zones, I joined in on the group effort to ensure our gathering remained eco-conscious. Sorting PET bottles, aluminum cans, and compostables at the end of the day wasn’t just clean-up—it was part of keeping Mizumoto Park one of Katsushika’s most beautiful green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
