[In-Person] India, October 23, WBLG Kali Puja Meetup 2025: A Night of Lights, Lenses & Laughter at Barasat

The city of joy is glowing again — and this time, it’s Barasat leading the charge! On 23rd October 2025, from 8 PM onwards, the West Bengal Local Guides (WBLG) community gathered for a special Kali Puja Meetup in the heart of North 24 Parganas, celebrating the festival of lights, flavors, and friendship.

As dusk fell, Barasat transformed into a magical carnival of twinkling diyas, dazzling pandals, and the unmistakable sound of festive chaos that every Kolkatan secretly loves. The WBLG members came together not just to explore, but to experience — through cameras, cups of chai, and countless conversations.

:cherry_blossom: Pandal Hopping – Art, Light & Devotion

The evening kicked off with a pandal exploration walk, where members admired the stunning creativity and craftsmanship behind Barasat’s themed pandals. Every corner seemed to tell a story — from traditional idol setups drenched in gold light to modern art-inspired installations. Local guides captured these masterpieces through their lenses, each click preserving a piece of Bengal’s festive soul.

Food Walk – The Taste of Tradition

What’s a Kolkata meetup without food? After the pandal trail, the group indulged in a food walk through Barasat’s buzzing streets — filled with the aroma of kathi rolls, hot singaras, jalebis, and that unbeatable puja-special bhog. Conversations flowed easily between bites, as everyone shared their favorite local joints and foodie secrets from across Bengal.

:camera_with_flash: Photo Walk – Framing the Festive Spirit

Armed with cameras and smartphones, members turned the streets into a canvas. From candid street moments to long-exposure light trails, the photo walk captured the energy, devotion, and sparkle of Kali Puja night. The photos weren’t just snapshots — they were living stories of the city’s pulse.

:hot_beverage: Chai Pe Charcha – The Soul of Every Meetup

As the night grew deeper, the group gathered for what became the heart of the evening — “Chai Pe Charcha.” Steaming cups of tea, laughter, small debates about photography angles, travel tales, and future meetup ideas filled the air. It was that perfect mix of warmth and wit that defines every WBLG get-together.

:sparkler: The Festival of Lights – Diwali Vibes Everywhere

The grand finale? Soaking in the Diwali vibes all around. Lights, fireworks, and the spirit of togetherness turned the meetup into more than an event — it became a memory. A moment where passion met purpose, and where a community celebrated both tradition and technology.
