Hello everyone,
November 10 is World Public Transport Day, and I want to celebrate it the Local Guides way — by going out and checking how well our own city’s public transport is mapped.
So I am hosting a small in-person meet-up in Saharanpur, and anyone nearby is welcome to join.
We will start at Saharanpur railway station and then walk to the bus stand. Together we will check what Google Maps says about these places and what is actually true on the ground — the entrance pin, timings, photos, and the small things travellers search for first: Is there a wheelchair-friendly entrance? Ramps? Clean toilets? Drinking water? A proper waiting area?
Wherever the map is wrong or incomplete, we will fix it on the spot with honest edits, photos, and answers — only what we actually see there ourselves.
This is my second meet-up (my first one was a virtual accessibility check), and first-timers are most welcome. No experience needed, just bring your phone and a water bottle. It is free, and we will finish with a group photo and chai.
If you are joining, please reply below so I know how many of us to expect. See you at the station gate at 11 AM!
