Cover Banner created using Gemini AI

Dear Local Guides Community,

On the occassion of International Museum Day, as part of the challenge initiated by @curatorofmemory Please join me in exploring a unique and deeply moving meetup as we visit The Partition Museum, housed in the historic Dara Shikoh Library. This meetup is a blend of history, remembrance, and community contribution.

The 1947 Partition is one of the most defining events in the subcontinent’s history. Together, we will walk through the galleries to explore the exhibits, read the narratives, and relive the stories and horrors faced by millions during the migration. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our shared heritage and the resilience of the human spirit.

Meet-Up Location : Partition Museum, Dara Shukoh Library Building (Ambedkar University campus) Lothian Road, New Delhi
Nearest Metro Station : Kashmere Gate, Gate No 7

Date: 31/05/2026

Our Agenda:
3:00 PM – 3:15 PM | Meet & Greet: Gather at the main entrance, introductions, and a quick briefing.

3:15 PM – 4:30 PM | Museum Exploration: Walk through the museum galleries, absorb the oral histories, and witness the artifacts on display.

4:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Mapping & Photography:

Map Accuracy Check: We will verify the museum’s location, entrance points, accessibility features (wheelchair ramps, etc.), and opening hours on Google Maps.

Photography: Capture high-quality, respectful photos of the exterior, the stunning Dara Shikoh Library architecture, and permissible indoor areas to help future visitors.

Important Notes for Attendees:
Respect the Space: Since this museum handles a sensitive and emotional subject, we request all attendees to maintain decorum and silence inside the galleries.

Camera Rules: Please follow the museum’s guidelines regarding photography inside the exhibition halls - avoid flash photography and take photos of only the permissable places

What to Bring: Your smartphone (fully charged!), a power bank, comfortable walking shoes, lots of water to drink.
