[In-Person] India, February 25, Chinese New Year Celebration

So we will be hosting the Chinese New Year Celebration Meet-up in China Town, Kolkata, where we will take part in the celebrations and also support local and small businesses with the help of Google Maps.

Every year, there is a huge celebration of the Chinese New Year in Kolkata; this year it’s from 17 February to 3 March in different places of China Town, Pou Chong KIM Premise, and nearby areas.

This occasion was placed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2024. As during this lion dance troupes visit local businesses to perform, bringing good fortune, prosperity, and joy for the coming year, we will also visit many local businesses.

Place: China Town
Address: 14, Topsia Rd, Park Circus, Topsia, Kolkata 700046
Date: 25 February 2026
Time: 05:00 - 06:00 PM (IST)

We will find out if the local business is on Google Maps or not; if not, then we will add it to Google Maps with appropriate photos, videos, and reviews. If we find any outdated information, then we will update it. It will be super fun.

Thank you so much

Thank you so much @TusharSuradkar Ji, as Kolkata is a home of many migrants, here you’ll find almost every main cultures and festivals celebrated over India and different parts of the world. :folded_hands:

Here you’ll find Japanese areas, Chinese areas, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Marathi, Marwadi, etc areas, and each area filled with decorations and celebrations in their festivals with Durga Puja, the biggest festival, the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

I think that’s the reason Kolkata is called cultural capital of India.

Thank you so much @OliverKIWI for your acknowledgement. :folded_hands:
