February is the month of Mother Language day and 21st February is celebrated as International Mother Language Day. We always respect our mother tongue and local languages. Many times we see the auto translated names are written wrong in Google Maps. So, on this month of mother language with a target to correct the wrongly translated names on Google Maps to correct local names this meet up will be held.
Target-
Correct the wrongly translated names on Google maps to correct local language names
Picture - Like in the Picture above, a Government office name for national ID Card is auto translated wrong in Bengali language. So we will rectify the same as shown
@PritishB Bro, Spam-free Local Maps Campaign is a different initiative. You should declare it with your meetup details that you will join, and clear your meetup activities then. It will be better to host a separate one.
It was actually a great idea for the meetup, not only because it would help build quality but also it was something different from others. Well done. @PritishB
Wow, what a fantastic and meaningful initiative for International Mother Language Day, @PritishB!
Correcting those auto-translations is so important for making Maps truly useful for local communities. I always keep an eye out for these and focus on correcting them in my own locality, so I will be joining the effort from here!
All the best for a successful meet-up!
