[In-Person] Cambodia, November 01, Cambodia Local Guides Meet-Up “Mapping the Eastern Border: Journey of Nature and Digital Sovereignty”

This meet-up is part of the Cambodia Local Guides Community’s effort to strengthen digital sovereignty and promote eco-tourism in Cambodia’s eastern region. Participants will explore natural landscapes, local communities, and border landmarks while updating Google Maps through verified edits, 360° Street View imagery, and photo contributions.

  1. Cultural & Community Documentation
  • Create a travel vlog and 360° Street View imagery showcasing natural beauty, local life, and culture.
  • Highlight authentic Khmer identity through storytelling and digital mapping.
  1. Digital Sovereignty Strengthening
  • Verify and correct map data in Mondulkiri, Stung Treng, and Preah Vihear.
  • Add new and accurate places for tourism and community use.
  1. Border Awareness & Safety Mapping
  • Capture safe travel routes near Cambodia–Laos border.
  • Support tourism safety and accessibility through Google Maps data improvement.
